ESET Smart Security 4.0 Public Beta 1 is now available. The new version incorporates a number of new features that enhance the effectiveness and performance of ESET’s comprehensive endpoint security product. ESET Smart Security uses the same engine that powers its flagship product, ESET NOD32 Antivirus. The beta test version is a precursor of the final product without full functionality and documentation. It is intended for experienced users and should not be installed on computers that perform critical tasks because it may cause errors or crashes.

SAN DIEGO – December 10, 2008 – ESET, the leader in proactive threat detection, has announced ESET Online Scanner is now available for public beta testing. ESET Online Scanner provides users the ability to scan and clean their systems without installing antivirus software. New features include enhanced browser support, destination scanning, anti-stealth (anti-rootkit) technology, and the ability to quarantine all infected files. It also features a new GUI and support for 64-bit platforms. The beta test version is a precursor of the final product without full functionality and documentation. ESET Plug-in for Cisco NAC Release Candidate Announced

ESET Plug-in for Cisco NAC Release Candidate is now available for public testing. This phase of public testing is expected to last four weeks.

The current versions of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security have built-in interoperability with Cisco Network Admission Control (NAC) to ensure endpoints on a network comply with network security policies. With the ESET Plug-in for Cisco NAC, earlier versions of ESET NOD32 Antivirus (2.7 and 3.0) and ESET Smart Security can also achieve Cisco NAC compatibility.

With Cisco NAC and ESET security software, network administrators can ensure each endpoint has the required security status before granting it access to the network, ensuring a high level of security.
